It disrupts calcium ion channels in your body which inhibits cells from communicating with each other. This can lead to cancer, among other health issues, because cells blocked from communication doesn't know if it is a cancer causing cell.
What does? At what frequency? And at what power? At what distance from the source? And after how much time?
Frequency matters, the higher it is the less it can penetrate inside your body. 5G has a higher frequency than what we use now, so it will probably be less harmful than what we already use today.
Do you have technical knowledge of this field? If so, can you comment on the following?
Excessive exposure to electrical RF (eg smartmeters) disrupts normal melatonin production (insomnia).
“SLF-EMF exposure directly affects the pineal gland, deteriorating the biological effect of melatonin"
Short wave RF can create reactive chemicals that cause cell/ DNA damage.
"When female rats were exposed to a 900 MHz EMF for 30 min/day for 30 days, endometrial apoptosis and oxidative stress were increased. An RF EMF of 2,450 MHz exposure caused rearrangement of DNA segments and breakage of DNA in testes"
"in 1988, Dr. Leif Salford and his colleagues atLund University Hospital in Sweden had exposed over 1,600 experimental animals to low-level microwave radiation. Their results were consistent and worrisome: microwave radiation, including radiation from cell phones, caused the blood-brain barrier—the brain’s first line of defense against infections and toxic chemicals—to leak"
Cellular homeostasis and communication channels are highly dependent on precisely calibrated, internally generated electromagnetic fields and that conditions like cancer can result from their disruption. eg. exposure to externally generated pulsed microwave radiation
hidden behind a paywall, but examines the effect on living tissue from high frequency em radiation:
"Abnormalities in the mitochondrial ETC of liver and aorta cells are more pronounced for animals radiated in a pulsed mode; (ii) the alterations in the functioning of the mitochondrial ETC cause increase of superoxide radicals generation rate in all samples, formation of cellular hypoxia, and intensification of the oxide-initiated metabolic changes;"
There are many reasons to want 5G, one of them is that by using higher frequencies who penetrate less inside your body it might be actually LESS harmful than what we use now.
That is a poor excuse to add MORE radiation to the already existing pollution. You do realize that 5G will be adding MORE total radiation, not LESS.
There are also some studies that show 5G 10+GHz waves do penetrate deeper into the body, because our sweat ducts start acting like waveguides at these frequencies. The sweat ducts are connected directly to the nervous system, thus providing a potential path into the body. There is also concern for the cornea of the eye, which is completely unprotected.
None of these studies have been done to evaluate safety. It's a complete free for all madness, where they deploy now and worry about consequences later. Microwaves are the modern tobacco smoke, and in time everyone will come to accept this fact one way or the other.
When you dismiss worries like the ones presented in this thread, you're essentially saying you're completely fine playing lottery with everyone's health. Instead you should be advocating for independent proofs of safety, and then if they are proven safe you can enjoy all the microwaves you want.
This is the only correct approach, instead of the dismissive lackadaisical approach which puts everyone at risk for absolutely no good reason.

Perhaps the senator should acquaint himself with the physics of electromagnetic radiation.

So, in short, none of these studies prove that 5G frequencies are somehow more dangerous than what we already use today.

Why do you want shit that could be harmful when we have a working something already in place?
