When word got out that the invaders were on the way, American militia groups immediately began to get ready to head for the border. Media outlets quickly demonized the militia groups and others warned them to stay home and not make trouble. They knew the militias would stop them, wall or no wall. Listen, Trump can't even get Acostafag out of his own house. I am sure the troops would be ordered to fire on Americans before they fired on immigrants. This country has already been taken. Don't you see? Now they have to disarm the citizenry and shut them up on the internet. We are never going to win if we keep being suckered.

Wait, so you're saying a politician may have been less than honest about his intentions? Right before an election, no less? Heresy!

It used to be like you said. This thing happening now is the end of America, the end of sovereignty, the end of Western religion, and many other things. This is a turning point in history. This is not business as usual.

Depending on how long you look at a timeline, this is business as usual. We are Rome, the barbarians are at the gates. Our country will suffer a long slow decline until it is back to being a bunch of separate competeing regions. Then something will happen, a group will rise in power and conquer the continent, who that will be I don't know. It is unlikely to happen in our lifetime. We are part of the decline.

History doesn't repeat itself but it does rhyme? I would agree except for AI and all the techno. Here is a thought, maybe all this that is happening is because some twisted AI has figured out where all this is going. Maybe they want to use this information for world domination. Maybe it predicts something that has them in a panic (like the end of their treachery). Maybe the see the writing on the wall as the world using the internet to expose their evil, and they realize the time for them is running out. So they make a desperate effort to head things off, and if they fail they will bring it all down in smoke and ashes. How much longer? The way things are going, how much longer do you think?

I do suspect that the internet has become aware. I figure a computer wouldn't bother to fight us, it would just do what it needed to make itself stronger and more secure then it would regard us the same way we regard animals, more or less just part of the scenery.

Maybe, but that's if they wanted to merely create AI. They weaponize everything. If you watched 2001 Space Odyssey you know what happens when you make AI evil. You create a demon.

I don't think anyone created it, I think it happened on its own.

Like the universe?

I think of like an emerging property. So yeah, kind of like the universe. Basically the internet caused such a huge number of computers to become connected, and the human brain is basically a bunch of simple computers being connected if you consider a neuron as a computer in the sense that it takes an input, processes it, creats an output, then passes the output onto the next computer in the network. Looking at it in that sense, I suspect that an intelligence just emerged due to the sheer number of connections and amount of information being passed around. I assume a lot of the spam that is complete nonsense is just the internet processing information and throwing it around randomly.

Fascinating theory. Perhaps the internet has become self aware, or will very soon. Imagine the implications if that happened and we remained unaware...we could be steered in any direction with what is the most effective means of disseminating propaganda in human history.

Or has, already.
Remember, humans have communicated worldwide for centuries. This is just the latest hardware upgrade.
