On my commute I drive under this thing every day it caught my attention but I didn't think too much about it. It occurred to me that this thing never changes shape or color no matter what the season. It looks very strange in the winter when the tree is bare. This thing has been there for at least 4 years at least that is when I first noticed it.
Hard for me to get a good picture because I am supposed to be driving but I have managed to get a few pictures. If there is interest I can use my Nikon, park my car and walk closer to get better pictures. I am wondering if this is some kind of wi-fi equipment disguised to blend in with natural surroundings. I love a good conspiracy theory although I am sure there is a simple explanation. What say you goats?

Any sort of secure facilities nearby? Looks strategically sensible for camera location. Corner, height, hidden.

I am color blind and what I meant to convey was that there is no apparent deviation in the amount of needles.

Shoot it with a bb gun and see if it makes a metalic sound when it hits

My first guess would be a disguised cell phone tower. Assuming the tree is an evergreen (which the shape seems to be) StatusQuip's suggestion could work since evergreens often don't change colour.

Could be a "cancerous" growth caused by damage it received on its very tip.

Looks like a growth known as witch's broom.

It would be one of the best I've ever seen if it is one. The shoots appear to be needled so it's odd that they would have stopped growing. OP says 4 years without change and in that time some of the growths should have continued to grow and start to hang/droop as the weight of the needles is too much for the twig.
u/epipendemic -- What are your first memories of this? I know it's atypical to notice things as they slowly change. It's like a coworker, you don't see them gaining a pound every 2 weeks. It's just one day when you see them and for whatever reason an old memory comes to mind and you realize they got fat.

Well a bird's nest isint made just from leaves it's mostly twigs and branches with spit. So its not to strange for it not to change colors. Have you tried using your phones WiFi finder to test that theory?
