Kavanaugh is accused of inappropriate contact a bunch of years ago; there's zero evidence, practically no testimony, no way to prosecute, and delaying doesn't really make sense either unless they can delay it through the election and then some. So maybe there's another motive?
For instance, look at this allegation that Rod Rosenstein was planning to wear a wire in conversations with Trump, and was attempting a soft coup. It's probably not actionable in court, I don't know if actual evidence of him trying such a thing exists. Still, Trump could fire him on this basis and probably should. But what if this is intended to create a false equivalence, to accuse Trump of being a hypocrite and keep Deep Staters in place?

It's part of the ongoing, decades long, Democrat movement to subvert Democracy and replace it with a libtard SCOTUS, so they can get what they want without needing a majority of the population to support it. Putting Kavanaugh on the court insures that the libtard party won't get its way any time soon.

Yeah, but they're betting a hell of a lot on the "blue wave" - and keeping the Kavanaugh controversy alive despite its stupidity will only tend to raise up more Republican voters.

Keeping the controversy going by keeping libtards in fear of their future is the only thing they have going now. He's qualified and will get the job.

As stupid as they seem to be, I can't see them doing this in a complete, blind panic. Most of them are not facing arrest, merely the loss of their jobs. Unless the corruption is that deep and provable in court, which I doubt. The ones who aren't completely bent won't be willing to back such a hysterical reaction.
Which means to me either one of two things: The corruption is provable, which is possible.
... Or they're readying for an actual putsch.
