I am reminded of Genesis 1:14 "And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:"
God uses the heavens as signs, maybe He is trying to get our attention or maybe the deceiver is trying to confuse us.

The heavens were created in verse 1. The firmament is something different.
