I mean, they're not entirely wrong. We're on the cusp of being able to merge man and machine, at some point we'll be more machine than man.

Would I put a microchip in my body? As it currently stands, no, I wouldn't. I'd need to see some major changes in regards to security and you bet your ass it's not going to be networked.

That being said, there are some definite positives, imagine having better than human eyesight, or hearing, or really any sense. To a lot of people that is going to be more valuable than the loss of privacy it would likely entail.
