I think before the last ice age there was a civilization of people that had technology but for the most part rejected it's implementation in everyday life due to the separation it causes living with nature. By that I mean they could generate electricity and produce light but instead chose to make candles, instead of making tractors they used domesticated animals to plow fields, etc. while keeping their technology for major things like ships that could explore the world in the pursuit of knowledge. I like to think they got so knowledgeable in mathematics and science that in the interests of seeing how far they could push themselves by implementing it into technology that they made what we'd consider impossible technology like anti gravity devices that made things like this ancient wall in Russia possible to build.
I think they made the mistake if sharing the technology for knowledge always considering themselves safe at the top of the food chain. The people they shared with were subhuman garbage niggers in comparison to them though and thought that if they were giving away such high technology for so little in return that they must have much more they're unwilling to share and either greed or fear of them being taken over with no ability to fight back entered their minds and war was declared.
After being relentlessly attacked and having no taste for war the Atlantians or whomever they were came to the conclusion that the savages not only need to be stopped but the memory of their technology must be erased as well. At this point it was either genocide all of the races they had contacted or create such hardship that they'd have no choice but to abandon life as they knew it. But how do you do that for all the races at once? It has to be a world wide event which means weather manipulation and since they knew it was the cold that forced them to learn to live in peace, learn to farm, have the time in winter just to learn anything they wanted, etc. basically everything that shaped their people, it was decided to bring ice to the savages to civilize them by causing the younger dryas event.
I think they underestimated the effect they would have on themselves though and most died while the rest relocated taking their knowledge with them. When they settled they dismantled all their technology, recycled what they could, destroyed the rest and gave the world agriculture and a few other tidbits that would never pose a threat to anyone to earn their keep and try to help move civilization along the right path. I think they always remembered what happened though and only passed their stories and true knowledge down very selective lines which have become the secret societies we know of today like the illuminati that consider themselves the true possessors of knowledge. I believe that they've since been corrupted and instead of taking what they've been told as a warning that they've instead used it as a guide book on what to expect technological progress to resemble and have gone to great lengths to recreate the technology of old and have broken away from our society as a result.
I think they're waiting to see how far we come with our lower technology as 7.5 billion people are going to come up with radically different technology than their own. Technology being merely the physical implementation of mathematics and science our tech will always be able to be integrated or improved upon by them though so eventually we're going to stumble upon something that only they want to have knowledge of and being a world wide society with high technology that's nearly matching their own they'll have to put us in another ice age or accept us as equals. My money's on another ice age...
FWIW I've seen a flying triangle up close. It flew silently and was chased by an F-15 type jet that came roaring in from the distance and couldn't keep up with it at all. I don't know if it was made by the military, a break away society or aliens, but the technology 100% exists and if it wasn't made by aliens I believe we're fucked once we get too clever for our own good.
