The first article I read about this subject caused me a pause.
* TV news crews robbed...
No shots were fired, but an ammo magazine from a gun was reportedly left behind....The robber drove away in a black BMW 7-series...
If that doesn't raise an eyebrow, then maybe this will.
- [Agent's stolen service gun used in pier slaying](http://www.dispatchtimes.com/ag ent-s-stolen-service-gun-used-in-pier-slaying/7542/)
The U.S. Bureau of Land Management said Wednesday that it is investigating whether an agent’s gun was used in the shooting death of a woman walking on a popular San Francisco pier...She says San Francisco should have deported Sanchez.
Anybody have some further light to shed on all this? Please provide reliable links, not just claims.

Here's a website with a press conference from the sheriff, and a comment from the mayor. Apparently he was supposed to be deported, but the request was ignored.

Why does the US dept of land management need armed agents? Are they evicting people off federal ground as a regular part of their job?
Good catch, I'll keep my eyes open for anything relevant.
