To summarize the first part. The West Memphis Three were Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin and Jesse Misskelley Jr. In 1993, Stevie Branch, Christopher Byers and Michael Moore went missing and were later found in a patch of woods behind the Blue Beacon Truck Wash in West Memphis, Arkansas. In response, Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin and Jesse Misskelley Jr. were arrested, tried and convicted of the murders. Misskelley was sentenced to Life plus 40 years, Baldwin was sentenced to life and Echols was sentenced to death. Nearly 20 years after the convictions, all three were offered an Alford Plea and were released from prison.
In a seemingly-unrelated story, Mark Phillips and Cathy O'Brien were investigating CIA Cocaine Trafficking as detailed in their book Access Denied: For Reasons of National Security when they met a man named Dale Griffis. This guy was supposedly an expert on cults and the like. O'Brien and Phillips made every attempt at interviewing him, however, as they described it, he constantly devolved into discussions of superstition when all they wanted to know was about the CIA Cocaine Trafficking happening right under his nose.
What does this have to do with the West Memphis Three case? He was one of the witnesses for the prosecution and what he gave as testimony on the witness stand was roughly about the same.

It was a tangential relation at best, admittedly but goes a long way in discrediting Griffis. At best, he's just a quack but at worst, he is a useful stooge to someone. Read up, watch, comment, discuss.
