Buy the amazon version and go line by line looking for alterations.

Compare the ISBN with the ISBN of what Amazon is selling, generally large revisions require new ISBNs (though I doubt they would signal a censored version like that)

If possible find a pdf (or the amazon version) and check random sections for changes.

I didn't know that about the ISBNs, I'll do that. Would comparing the table of contents help, too? Or do you think they wouldn't be so blatant as that? Unfortunately we will have to wait until tomorrow before I can deliver. I'm already out for the night.

The Table of Contents might help for blatant removals.

For most of it you'll need to look at particular paragraphs that would have been altered with specific wording that either makes it technically "factually" wrong or changed to deflect from the original perpetrators that were named because that will generally signal who changed it and why.
