Some trees are naturally fire resistant. The trees depend on fire to sprout.

This is correct.
Wildfires are an important part of the natural life cycle of highly wooded areas. They clear out all the weak and dead trees while allowing room for new saplings to grow.
The problem is when we build houses in the paths of the fire.
