CBD also does something to opiate receptors where people need less opiates for pain reduction or it can help those with opiate withdrawal. Science hasn't figured out the details of mechanism but it's pretty easy to find information regarding cbd as an opiate replacement in practice.
Are there any places you can find pure cbd that doesn't contain any thc? Im in a legal state, but get monthly random screens. I've seen a few sketchy "pure cbd crystal" websites, but can't trust my job security to advertisements. I would guess that nothing short of mass spectometry could ensure pureness, and I don't know who to trust or if it's even possible to sufficiently separate the oils
If you're in a legal state, you should be able to find from the retailer a product that has already undergone testing and potency analysis.
You'll never get 0 thc. It's determined by genetics. The cbd/thc ratio can be at any extreme, but there will still be some. A good friend of mine is growing hemp with 8-12% cbd and .1-.3% thc and this has taken him about 5 years of selective breeding to get it that low.
If your job tests you frequently and will fire you over trace thc, you are kinda SOL. Even CBD in large enough amounts can overload the liver and start to metabolize some of it into THC. It's dumb, but that's the way they are playing this game.
