not illegal to buy, but illegal to grow in the USA.
USA is one of the largest importers of hemp, and the largest industrialized nation where growing hemp is illegal. only within the past couple years hemp was allowed to be grown in the US, under very restrictive regulations.
you can't just grow some hemp in your yard most places in the US. this falls under the 'drugs are bad, m'kay'
you CAN buy the shit out of hemp products all day long in the US. hemp products aren't illegal, but the plant is, lol.

hemp also cycles faster than other crops, 4x yearly harvest. there are so many things going for hemp, but our govt demonized it.
