I posted the 5 year traffic data for facebook the other day on v/whatever, and its been going down noticeably. My suspicion is that Zuckerberg sold advertisement on fb as a way to influence people, and when that did not pan out, he realized he owned an asset that already had its best days behind it.
FB was meant to create personal bubbles, but all the money the Democrats threw at it didn't work, and advertisers know now. It'll be another 8 years until that much money will be thrown around again, and its not clear if they will command as much for advertisers by then.
Zuckerberg is gonna try to parlay his notoriety as long as he has it, because he knows its downhill from here.
