Perhaps the most significant finding: "Thirty-six percent (36%) believe that, most of the time, scientists’ research findings are motivated by a desire to advance their own careers. Only 32% say that they mostly rely on the best scientific evidence. Twenty-seven percent (27%) believe that political views of the scientists generally influence their work."

I would suggest the fossil fuel companies are lying to Americans to keep them hooked on oil and gas.

They don't need to keep us "hooked". Fossil fuels are still the most affordable and realistic energy source so of course we want to still use it

If you use fossil fuels at all, you're a hypocrite and obviously don't believe the planet is being "destroyed" or you're ok with it.
