Al Fuqura has been operating in the United States for almost 40 years, yet you have never heard of them.
You are completely unaware that there is an Islamic terror movement that has murdered people in the US and Canada, and bombed buildings, sold drugs, and other crimes, and the wikipedia entry is only half a page.
Why?
Was Obama a member?
Why is this one group never talked about, ever? We never heard about them, yet we sure do know about ISIS and AL Queda.
Al Fuqura means "community of the impoverished" and they recruit and spread based on the black Muslim community in America and Canada. It strikes me as odd that this group was ignored during the war on terror. What is more concerning is how what they said in the 80s is being mirrored in the black lives matter messages now.

One wonders the same thing about the Nation of Islam. They are ubiquitous in black communities (like fucking Mormons in white communities) promoting violence against non-blacks and calling for white genocide. The have public daily radio addresses and newspapers all promoting violence. They behave like a cult, and many black Muslim terrorist have ties with them yet MSM and government pretends like they don't exist.

prison, the one part most of society has absolutely no experience with.
or the military, pending your perspective.

Only 17% of the service is black.

You have to:not be fat, not have a criminal record, get good asvab scores, and not been on prescription meds for mental disorders.
We are soon going to hit an interesting point in our history: the military will be the most physically fit and mentally fit organization in the US. The big question will then be: Who can stop them if they decide to have a Coup?

wouldn't work, people would just say piss off and not do anything despite whatever punishment.
culture is the residue of supreme strength. culture is the only thing worth protecting. coups are worthless in the sense of traditional war.

You are looking at it like it is a war, i am looking at it like a wealth redistribution or the projection of an ideology.
They remove patriotism from the country, then why serve? Power.
There are multiple philosophies in the military. The navy has one called "the cult of steel" where there are two sins: weakness and stupidity. It is your obligation to punish those sins whenever possible. It is a predominant ideology that exists in the chief's mess. The suicides on the ships are not always suicides, and the flight deck accidents are not always accidents.
You probably never bothered to wonder why they even have an NCIS? Why do they need a special police force to investigate crimes?
We are very close to a war based economy, thanks to manufacturing outsourcing. Imagine if we get a new Mattis who is not restrained by such concepts as honor or integrity? Someone who says "fuck it, let us have a nation of mercenaries, and demand protection fees from the weaker nations". Someone loved by the branches and who marches the marine corps into Washington and starts
murderingeuthanassing congressmen in the street? Americans would applaud, they have a higher opinion for the military than they do for congress.Could the UN stop us? Would russia and china raise a finger to stop us? Or would they get in on the global protection racket?

no, I agree with you. patriotism and ideologues, in my perspective, are parts of culture.
i am also very familiar with collective punishment.
but again, i agree with what you're saying. my words may not ring equal to your ear, but i think they parallel and align conceptually with my intention.
my end point is that, I believe a federated society requires a mandatory enlistment of some sort into whatever public sphere is governing the contemporary model.
one may find it hard to argue that everyone should be physically fit (with reason to personal biology and physiology), securing a better lifespan and more rewarding personal life, and better contribution to the whole...
one may argue, if everyone had hand-to-hand training early in life, physical violence would be less apparent in adulthood, also removing emotional scaring by way of abject success
one may argue that the only way to secure a nation is to make its populace security bearers.
one may argue that a master rules by empowering their subjects to rule themselves. conversely, but no differently, than parents wanting their children to be independent, strong, confident... not strident, but confident.
people live in tropes and modes of thought they learned from tv, abuse, or society; and most of those tropes and modes are oppressive, and weaken people mentally and physically.
but again, to reiterate, I agree with you and align with your thinking.
