It's becoming clear that /v/conspiracy needs some fresh blood on the mod team.
Having been recently accused of being everything from a reddit shill to a NIGGER CUNT, it's clear that this sub does not benefit from having me as the only active mod.
For those that doubt my commitment to Voat, I've been passionate about this site since the very first migration from reddit in the whoaverse days.
I started /v/history and a few other big subs, and I became one of the first mods here at /v/conspiracy.
I came here precisely because of the bullshit moderation/hive mentality that plagues reddit to this day.
That being said, I do want to formally apologize for my role in the recent drama here at /v/conspiracy (which on the surface makes me seem hypocritical, which I regret).
This was regarding one former rule (no racist attacks) that has since been removed. I didn't write the rule, and I only referenced it once to remove one comment in my years as a moderator here (and only after a long-standing user reached out after being repeatedly harassed).
However, Voat in 2017 is not the Whoaverse from 2014, and I fully recognize my mistake...racist remarks will no longer be removed from the sub (spam still will).
That being said, I don't think my continued participation on reddit (I only post to /r/conspiracy) should jeopardize my role here.
I'm still on reddit because I'm fascinated by the process of watching it burn.
I'm on voat because I'm fascinated by the process of watching it bloom.
My motivations for using both sites aren't mutually exclusive.
Regardless, it's clear we need new mods.
If you'd like to be a mod here, speak up! Tell us a little something about yourself, your history at Voat, and your interest in conspiracy theories.
Although it would be best for the sub to have active /v/conspiracy users as mods here, Voat veterans are also welcome to apply.
Feel free to nominate someone else as well.
Depending on the level of interest, it probably would be best to add 3-5 new mods.
Any other thoughts or suggestions?

@axolotl__peyotl When I started v/traditionalwives, I was not prepared for the huge amount of trolls we were going to receive. In the very beginning, I removed some comments as well as submissions that were 'off-topic' or what I considered to be spam. @adhdferret explained to me that removing comments and posts wasn't the way to go about doing things and that it just pissed people off, that I couldn't seek that level of control if I wanted a healthy sub. Ferret advised letting the community decide what and wasn't appropriate for the sub by using the down vote system. I listened to his advice and messaged the Goats whose messages I removed and apologized and explained my ignorance- they all graciously accepted my apology and we moved forward. Since learning, I've only removed one thing which was child porn.
V/TraditionalWives' co-owner @Le_Squish has had to remind me from time to time that free-speech is paramount and I credit her with helping keep our sub inline with Voat's ideals. The only time our modteam bans is for forum sliding and it takes an awful lot for @Trigglypuff to swing the hammer and it's safe to say we get a lot more trolls than v/conspiracy...well, probably not anymore. You've put yourself on the radar now and the community is likely to test you now. My best advice to you is to not be a nigger and delete or ban and either fall in line with voat's free-speech ideals and take your lumps that are coming to you, or step down and allow someone else to take over. Like it or not, your reputation has been damaged and the only real way to improve said reputation to do what's best for the Voat community and v/conspiracy.

Great advice, and thanks.

No problem. If you'd like to unmod the team and yourself I'd be happy to take it over as owner.
