The war on drugs has always been a pointless sham

LOL, these guys still don't get it.

It wasn't pointless at all.

Its point was to extort funding from governments for the Military/Law Enforcement/Private Prison industries.

The other point was to create a scarcity market that allowed intelligence agencies to generate huge amounts of profits outside of their official government budgets that could be used for activities outside of congressional oversight.

Horrible points, to be sure, but they were points for the creepy spooks, politicians and LEOs who drive the drug war agenda.

Freeway Rick Ross summarized the whole deal

They call out the government in it. Though this is just a remake of earlier docs on the subject.

The History Channel Is Finally Telling the Stunning Secret Story of the War on Drugs

'Chuck Grassley , a Republican senator from Iowa, is known on twitter for expressing his yearning for the History Channel to finally show some history. '

'So now that the History Channel has granted Grassley his wish and is broadcasting this extraordinarily important history, it’s our job to make sure he and everyone like him sits down and watches it. '

'That core truth is: The war on drugs has always been a pointless sham. '

'Yet even Grassley is showing signs that he realizes there may have been some flaws in the war on drugs since the beginning. '

'For decades the federal government has engaged in a shifting series of alliances of convenience with some of the world’s largest drug cartels. '
