Why is anyone even surprised by this? The biosphere of the Earth is a living organism, and it protects itself from disruptions. When it is injured, it actively heals itself. It has built-in feedback mechanisms that prevent such scenarios as a runaway green house effect. Science does not yet recognize or understand those feedback mechanisms, but we know they are there because ... duh! ... the Earth has supported life for more than three billion years, and in that time there have been massive, catastrophic disruptions of a kind we can barely imagine. Without a balancing and self-healing ability, life would have been wiped off the surface and from the seas of this planet long ago.
