What a pointless exercise in futility. Stashing equipment in Eastern europe would not allow for its use in the event of conflict. And the yanks know this. That is why they keep an armoured division worth of equipment in Germany and large stock piles in Norway. They would be far enough behind lines to actually fly troopers in to use the equipment. Saying that they will put equipment in eastern europe, is only being done to antagonize the russians to further react and recreate Cold War version 2. Perfect for the bankers and neo-cons in seppo land. Also, I wonder how many of those supplies will "find" there way to Ukraine? Just like the israelies are able to use amercian supplies that are stashed in Israel.
tl:dr? it does not make military sense to store equipment too near a potential front line, But it does make political sense if you are trying to start Cold War v2.
