Obviously the CIA is getting some bad press from these leaks, but secret intelligence agencies don't seem to just dissolve when public opinion gets low. So what is the logical endgame for all of this, if the remaining leaks are everything they are rumored to be? Does the CIA get forcibly dismantled by the white house? Are they subject to congress? Do they just spin-off and rebrand themselves like the KGB did with the fall of the USSR?
The pessimist in me thinks nothing will happen, just like with snowden and the NSA. But I'm trying to be a little less cynical.

Nothing.
I mean, let's go with our best-case scenario, wherein the CIA and NSA are torn limb from limb, budgets emptied, agencies disbanded in shame.
These people don't stop having their skills. Their connections. Their black budgets. They won't go away, they'll just go rogue. And keep doing what they're doing.

That is why a "retired" spy is a dead spy.

I think widespread mass early 'retirement' is unlikely to be the outcome here.

I know. That is the only way to do it though.
