Kind of funny how they have the survey about "belief in extraterrestrials" when the UFO could be completely terrestrial. But it makes sense - in common parlance "UFO" may as well mean "alien spaceship". Still, amusing.
Edit: I mean, it may be some spooky top secret thing, or some sort of semi-corporeal luminescent spirit creature, or a active-camouflaged blimp, etc. genuinely abnormal things - but wholly terrestrial in origin. or it could be extraterrestrial. A belief in extraterrestrial life doesn't have any bearing on what this thing actually was.
Quite possible. Heck, lockheed recently (ok not super recent) announced they've got a fusion reactor design that will go into commercial production in the next decade or so, and it can fit in the bed of a pickup truck. That's pretty much all that one needs to make a magnetohydrodynamic aerodyne that looks and works just like the saucer UFOs we see videos of zipping away after hovering for a while.
Skunkworks never admitted to the SR-71 until 30 years after it had already been flying. I wonder how many decades ahead of the public they are at this point....
