The pyramids made their rounds on social media in late November last year.
Of course it's weird that no one noticed, since the high definition satellite images on google earth showing them seem to have been available since 2009. But I guess people don't look at Antarctica that much, since there's not much to see.
Or maybe people noticed but didn't think much of it since many of the peaks there have the pyramid shape and it's probably just a natural cause and the one people are freaking out over is just the most regular.
