If they were officially abolished, how could we be sure they shut down their operations? They get the majority of their funding from black market drug sales and most likely human trafficking.
I'm all for shutting them down, but I don't think they really need overt government funding to continue to operate.

Good point. The abolishing would def have to consider these aspects of continued rogue operation.
