At best you'd get RADAR images. This is definitely not going to be near the surface of an ice sheet.

I am somewhat concerned the whole warm the Earth global warming thing is actually aimed at thawing that ice to get at the technology (even if non functioning) below. This would not be something they could just drill out. Such a facility would be very visible and go against international law. So fucking with the biosphere is easier and cheaper since it was a side effect of production anyway.
