My knowledge of Antarctica comes from my best friend of 50 years now
Old dudes use 4chan? First thing to make me suspect...
He is a 31st Mason
Okay, this story is bullshit RP by someone that doesn't even have their story straight. If you're a 31st degree Scottish Rite mason, all that means is that you were too lazy to do the extra course to get your 32nd degree in that one weekend. Masonic degrees don't work on an ascension level. You ask to take the courses, pay your fee to take them (which isn't much) and you are granted a "degree" (like in college...they aren't levels). It doesn't take years of dedication and service to reach the 32nd degree of the Scottish rite. It can literally be done, and usually is, in a weekend retreat.
You're right that the way Masonic degrees usually work (I've read about this before) is that they advance through a bunch of levels all at once. It would be unusual for somebody to stop at a 31st degree without reason. However, while this is a curious detail, it's not necessarily proof that the story cannot be true.
There is however no objective proof that the story is true. It is interesting though, and there are a few things he's talking about like the media symbolism that I think might work. At the moment it's just entertaining fiction.
One thing however, is that there are some unexplained aspects to the poles that is going to continue to invite a lot of speculation. People look at so-called satellite imagery that doesn't make total sense, look at how travel is highly controlled and restricted (except for elite political + religious figures who are in the news from time to time with unusual trips to these areas), look at Nazis occult interest and fascination with this area, and figure that something weird is going on.
Oh I'm not saying that there isn't something weird going on with Antarctica. I'm saying that THIS story about what is going on in Antarctica is bullshit. And while there may be actual truth to parts of the media symbolism aspects, overall, the whole story is ruined by the Masonic connection.
While being a 31st degree Mason is strange, and doesn't necessarily mean the story isn't true, it's a strong indication that they aren't being truthful. They are making an appeal to their "friend's" authority by name dropping the Masons and then putting in a "degree", as though it's something that you rise to (implying that he has been a Mason for many years and is in deep...but hasn't made 32nd...yet...when that isn't how it works at all). Keeping that in mind, this piece reads like someone is just getting a primer in esoteric conspiracy 101 and is just making up a bullshit story based on the limited research they have done without having the actual knowledge of what they are talking about.

This is the beginnings of 'partial disclosure' as david W has phrased it and anon is working this narrative. Long but relevant and worth the read IMO
