Or..... There are legit concerns that altering the makeup of food is having negative effects on humans..... It's pretty coincidental that as soon as high fructose corn syrup made with modified corn came on the scene, literally the entire world saw massive rises in obesity.
I don't think there is anything wrong with being concerned about GMO's on a case by case basis.
The main issue with high fructose corn syrup is that the subsidization of corn makes it stupidly cheap, so companies can add excessive amounts of it to things without taking a huge hit from production costs. If we used sugar in the same quantities that we use corn syrup, obesity would still be high.
Except there is no proof that is true. I'm not saying it's not, I'm saying there is nothing wrong with being skeptical about literally modifying food. Plenty of shit had sugar in it back in the day. Coca Cola has been around since the late 1800's. Didn't see people getting fat from drinking coke. Sugar has been in shit forever. Candy was HUUUGGEEEE back in the early 1900s. Point is, it's worth being skeptical.
