It's extremely odd that world-famous (in his field), renowned neuroscientist, Dr Bosco Tjan at USC http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-usc-stabbing-20161202-story.html who "co-founded the Dornsife Cognitive Neuroscience Imaging Center, and served as its co-director at the time of his death. He (also) directed the Laboratory for Functional and Computational Vision" (wikipedia) was RANDOMLY stabbed by a 28 year old grad student with zero motive, earlier this year. No mugshot of the perp, no social media, no info online, generic name, absolutely nothing. (David Brown.) Story went away quietly.

SIMILARLY, only a few months prior, at UCLA, popular and eminent Caltech-alumni professor, Dr William Klug, department of mechanical and aerospace engineering, was shot to death by a rando, over something that just sounds pitifully made up. Dr. Klug's specialty, interestingly, was computational biomechanics and the mechanics of biological systems, such as cancer cells http://newsroom.ucla.edu/releases/william-klug-39-ucla-engineering-professor-whose-research-crossed-disciplines The very few pics released of his shooter, just looked heavily photoshopped/doctored and as with Dr Tjan's 'killer', no social media, graduate pics, links to papers etc etc. Story went away quietly.

Two of the top professors at the two top schools in California (after Stanford) murdered within months of each other? I don't think so. Im still trying to find a definitive link to PGate (something other than gut feeling!) and will do some more research, but for the moment just wanted to put this out there as I find it all extremely sinister.
