DDoS attack could only slow down a deadman's switch it would eventually activate. Not sure how the switch works I assume someone from within the group just has to ping a server somewhere to reset a timer. East Coast DDoS slowing it down how would that even work unless the deadman's switch is on a East Coast server. I would even bet there's a multi switches on servers around the world. Sounds fake to me.

The way I read was the DDOS would make the system releasing the DMS, be unable to connect to relevant servers until they could be powered down.
Though, why they would rely on external DNS and not use an IP directly in the system-no idea.
