Lots of those jobs will be offset with new jobs in renewables. But yeah. Jobs are going to start dropping like flies in the next twenty years. We have to start sharing the benefits of automation so that the answer to "What am I gonna do when I lose my job!?" becomes "Enjoy your free time."
I believe it'll happen eventually. For sure. There's no stopping it.
I'm not nearly convinced it'll be a good thing. I think it could be an amazing thing. The best thing to ever happen to our species. But more realistically, I'm afraid it's going to be the worst thing.
