The article did successfully lay out that she was opposing the regime at least some, at least with "radio free *" broadcasting paid US propaganda.

There is no evidence though that we toppled the regime. Economics did that. More specifically oil prices. To believe that the whole world started to change what they agree is the price of oil at the same time just to fuck over Venezuela is rediculous.

With stratfor's comments that is interesting. They are a half israeli half american geo-politics think tank that "advises" governments around the world. I wonder if their advice is ever biased?

They apparently really don't want these "radio free *" channels loosing credibility.

Nice to see a more objective comment here. :)

To believe that the whole world started to change what they agree is the price of oil at the same time just to fuck over Venezuela is rediculous.

I would not say it is ridiculous, and there is more to the story. The promotion of the "pivot" occurred at the same time this went down. The pivot to Asia was designed mostly to cut down Russia, as it has long been the stance of Democratic advisor and CFR member Zbigniew Brzezinski to essentially destroy Russia. At the same time, the United States was suffering continued stagnation.

What better way to support the "pivot" than to get the mostly US-friendly CARTEL of OPEC (Oil Producing Exporting Countries) to flood the market with cheap energy, at the expense of Russia while expanding the war-only international organization NATO?

This also explains why fracking has skyrocketed.

Added bonus: mess with Venezuela's economy too! It may be more than an added bonus though. The US has actively tried to undermine the "Chavez" revolution from the beginning. There's an interesting movie-length documentary online ... The Revolution Will Not Be Televised ... Check it out.

Another added bonus: discourage production of alterative energy.

It just happens that the geopolitics here have an unusually one-sided effect of helping the "west" and harming the "enemies" of Western elites. :)

More specifically oil prices.

Venezuela put all its eggs in one basket and left itself open to this.
