Be aware that they'll most likely mix in mercenaries into the military and they'll weed out any members within the military who voice actions against any illigal orders coming from the government. Officers and generals will have sudden accidents as to minimize them rolling out major offensives against the government.
The only hope left after that point are local malitias to combat the threat, but the firepower will be insufficient, which means it'll be guerrilla warfare for years.
I stronly believe the Americans are heading into a huge civil war, but this time it'll be the American people vs the corporate elite and bought politicians.
History repeats more often than you think. And you can bet there will be a major war in the next 20-30 years -- if not earlier.
