I fucking love that guy!

Aside from Farage, it's interesting to me to see how quickly the EU insiders contradict themselves now. They used to present a confident/inevitable front, but now they're sullen, prone to lash out and then back-pedal.

But, oh, it gets better than that. With the UK gone, there's no reason to keep English around. As much as the EU hated to admit it, there were precious few Maltese-Estonian, or ... Basque-Romanian translators. A lot of the work was done in English. Now, there are noises about nixing English (peevish retaliation). I'm sure that will work out ever so lovely...

They won't trade with Britain, so more nations will have to leave and trade with Britain.

They scoff at a terrif free deal. Of course, they are buerocrats. They get their blood money telling businesses they have to pay to play.

Even domestic ones have to pay to play, why would they let British businesses get out from under thumb and then let them pay nothing to do business. That would like be fair and result in money going to who deserves it. We can't have that.

Glorious. People claim that the EU is a success because it's goal was to keep peace between the nations, but the EU has gone unnecessarily far beyond that. The EU currently is bloated and heading in a pointless direction, striving to become a European government. It's pointless, the people of Europe don't want that. The EU should go back to becoming something like the ECSC, i.e. nothing more than a trade agreement between States and a place for leaders of governments to talk and cooperate with each other, if they want. I'm so sick of authoritarians trying to expand government reach, whether it's national government or a supranational organization like the EU, we need more libertarians to keep things sane.

"17 years ago, you were all laughing at me..... well you're not laughing anymore." - that's the best fucking political speech I've ever heard in my life. Bravo!

8_billion_eaters ago

He could have said, "SEE YA, WOULDN'T WANTA BE YA" and it wouldn't have been as good.

onezeno ago

He's been waiting so so long to give that speech.

I'm making it my life's mission to buy this guy a pint!

That fucking Nigel Farage is one stand up guy. Happy Independence Day, England.

FishBoneFredd ago

...what you are dealing with are children. The types of children who will laugh and jeer in a parliamentary chamber on the eve of your second largest member state exiting the union.

Very well said. I'd like Mr. Farage to come to the US and talk some sense into our congress children.

Like Hitler at Stalingrad, Napolean at Leipzig or Yamamoto at Midway, Bush at 9/11 they continued fighting on, not seeing the losing the battle means that total victory is lost. Many lives are lost as a result in a stubborn attempt at achieving the impossible.
