Mostly, I'm seeing climate change topics being brought up. I'm not gonna take sides on this topic right now, there's plenty of better places to debate climate science.
It seems to me that the superusers have found a new divisive topic on voat. With all the influx of the /r/news people, it seems like reddits bullshit is getting dredged up. Regardless of your opinion, don't let them turn this place into reddit. Don't get in arguments if you know neither you or the other are open to an actual discussion.
I have a strong feeling that the superusers here are some of the same people that were on reddit. They will always post whatever will get the most attention, good or bad. Its almost like they aggregate opinions from a site, and choose their posts to match. Almost exactly like a bot algorithm would.
I expect this to only get worse as voat gets more traffic. I'm not sure there's much anyone can do about this, but I think we should all try and stay aware of what is happening, for better or worse.

I don't know if this belongs here. this sounds like a problem for v/ideasforvoat
One thing that would fix this, is a "sort by controversial" option for posts. showing the posts with the most up and down voats would help show people both sides of the issue, and prevent important ideas from being buried.

Perhaps you're right that this wans't the best sub for my post, though I can't say I have and ideas/solutions to submit that would make my post worthwhile in ideasforvoat.
I do have a suspicion that this is organized by the same people who are payed to control narratives on other sites like reddit. People with upwards of 1,000,000 post/comment points in under a year are clearly working full time, even if they may not be getting payed.

someone in v/ideasforvoat suggested the sort by controversial button. Someone else also showed a "least popular" sort option.
Based on your post, i see the merit in both of these options. I think we should be pushing this idea for @atko. This would be an organic way to stop shills.

I'm with you on that. Before the last few months, I wouldn't think there was a need for such a tab, but after the last few weeks in particular I've missed that feature from my reddit days (even if reddit's probably isn't a fair representation of "controversial" because of the vote fuzzing).
If someone starts a thread over there let me know, I'd happily stop by and show my support.
