are centered near the US Navy’s largest installation in the Mojave Desert

Why is the NAVY in the DESERT?

Sciency ago

Pretty clever actually, who woulda thought to look there?

In all seriousness, the oceans are largely international territory, and testing experimental weapons there would probably violate half a dozen treaties. This only leaves inland areas, and desserts tend to be the least inhabited by humans and other animals.

Once my jeep club was in that area and we where hit by a EMP, no one had working battery's after it hit.

Now that would really suck.

Yeah, The good thing we push started a cj3 jeep and recharge it's battery then use it to jump start the others. 15 jeeps and 1.5 hours later we were on the move.

The best reason to drive standard! I've done my fair share of push starts and I still think it's a magical thing.

Old school standard anyway. New standards basically have a usb joystick attached to an automatic.
