It does not hurt their bottom line, and it most definitely doesn't affect their business operations in the slightest.
What Anonymous is doing is the equivalent of your daughter coming up to you and holding her breath until you give in to her demands. You just look at her and laugh.
What they should be doing in reality is ripping them apart 1 brick at a time. In other words, systematically, and continuesly, attack the people who make up the Federal Reserve Bank by means of shining a very bright light on both their private and business lives. Rich and powerful people have many, many skeletons in their closets.
The worst thing about anonymous is that ANYBODY can claim to be them, do something terrible and blame them for it, and nobody can prove anything one way or the other, but the public perception will change.
Also, a government can use anonymous to cover up their own illegal activities. Say there is pressure to audit the Fed, some government agency claims to be anonymous, attacks the Federal Reserve, and now the Fed can say that they don't have accurate records because they were hacked, oh no, now the entire economy is going to collapse, quick, pass some laws so anybody suspected of being anonymous is rounded up.
I think you're right. It worked using Al-Qaeda as the bad guys. The government even destroyed hundreds of thousands of records including records on the twin towers by bringing down building 7. It was Al-Qaeda. They were blaming Al-Qaeda for everything because the American people believed that everything bad in the world was because of Al-Qaeda. It was too easy to fool the masses.
I saw an interview with the the first president of Afghanistan on Al-Jazeera Media Network that was put in place after America slaughtered several hundred thousand men, women and children so the Rothschild's could put a central bank there (forgive me, I don't remember the President's name and I'm too lazy to look it up). He said that he had never heard of Al-Qaeda before 911. Yet after we invaded Afghanistan every thing was Al-Qaeda's fault.

So now the government will use this to disallow anybody from having any anonymity online claiming that only terrorists want to be anonymous.
