Sounds to me like you just described Sane's shape-shifting pretty well, though.
That's just it though... Sane made so many alts, much like Dial, but it was always really clear to me when it was him. He wasn't capable of hiding himself. Dial plays the same games, sure. But is he as capable of deep thought? Not really. He gets his kicks out of deceiving people. Sane actually had objectives he laid out. Name the last pseudo-productive thing Dial fought for.
At the end of the day, he may have been a little off his rocker, but Sane had his ideals and he stuck to them.
