I'd kinda forgotten about this, though I've shared it in the guitar thread before.
This band is with us no more, as the two principal members were a couple and Dan's retarded. Some of you will have heard this before, from the FNGT. (Reminder, tomorrow night is the guitar thread night and you still have time to record!)
Anyhow, this is about Dicky who bought himself a Cadillac. At the time, Caddies weren't really known as performance vehicles but were known as status symbols. A lot has changed since then. Today, a Caddy driven by the old man next to you accelerates at about the same rate as gravity.
This is also a good example of what I call 'bar music' or sometimes 'bar blues.' It will make the drunk people wiggle on the dance floor. There's no great philosophical statements made. It's just about Dicky who came into some money and bought a Cadillac. It's based on a true story.

Also, I'm going to ping @clamhurt_legbeard.
Sometimes, capitalization is important. I love the font choice, but when someone types i8 into a title, it should probably show as lowercase. I'm CSS illiterate, or at least too lazy to load developer tools in Firefox.
First, what are your thoughts regarding this? Second, is it worth the effort to change it, when it's probably never going to be an issue that causes serious confusion?

problem solved
as for me being a mod
i only just freed up a mod slot a couple days ago
thats why i had you do my alt for designer lol
TheBuddha ago
LOL I had to free one up for this sub too. I'll go ahead and rescind the invite.
It's not like there's anything to moderate. 'Snot like I give a shit enough to delete or ban.
clamhurt_legbeard ago
lol
i had a free slot
TheBuddha ago
I'll not be even remotely offended if you someday resign for a useful sub!
My goal is to build the foundations for a good automotive community on Voat. It's actually coming along better than I expected. I'm surprised in a good way.
clamhurt_legbeard ago
i moderate very few useful subs
im a designer on a couple useful subs and moderator on v/thegunclub
everything else is shitposting lol
TheBuddha ago
I don't expect this sub to be very useful, though I suppose I could do an 'ask a mechanic' thread, except I'm not actually a mechanic. It's not like someone else is going to step up and do it.
Hmm... Maybe a weekly ask an autotive question thread...

my ac clutch wont go
tell me how to make it do go
TheBuddha ago
Replace it.
See? I'm helpful!
clamhurt_legbeard ago
inorite
TheBuddha ago
I've never once had that problem, so I'm not going to pretend I can help. I've replaced a compressor and I've recharged working AC systems.
I drove my tractor!!!
clamhurt_legbeard ago
it wouldnt let me recharge it
im puzzled
TheBuddha ago
What's it doing or, conversely, not doing?
clamhurt_legbeard ago
i click the refill nozzle on
i push the trigger
the pressure jumps up to like 160psi instantly
instructions say make sure ac compressor clutch is engaged
if not maybe its low on gas so keep refilling it
but it wont go
i havent bought a repair manual yet so im just going off youtube
TheBuddha ago
I have a stupid question.
Is the car powered on and the AC turned on, and to max, when you try to charge it?
clamhurt_legbeard ago
Yup. AC set to max with engine running but not actually engaging clutch, while I click the nozzle on and try to put gas in.
Stupid questions often reveal easy answers.
I wish you'd ask a stupid question I didn't think of.
TheBuddha ago
I suspect it's seized or just plain worn out. Again, I'm not a mechanic.
Do you have a "Pick and Pull?" What vehicle is this on? (Make, model, year, and probably engine size are important.)
clamhurt_legbeard ago
ya thats what im wondering too
we have a number pick a parts around
its an f150
itll be easy to replace
TheBuddha ago
Oh, fuck yeah. There will even be a broad range of years that they used that specific setup. You'll have no problem finding a replacement for cheap.
LOL I have a buddy in PCB, FL that owns a Pick N Pull. I've spent all sorts of time there, playing with the equipment and smashing cars in the crusher. I have to do it on the weekends and after hours, 'cause they expect people to be quick. Not me... I enjoy watching 'em get smooshed and just smashing stuff for my own amusement.
clamhurt_legbeard ago
lol
good stuff man
ive never smashed a car on purpose lol
TheBuddha ago
Oh, it's awesome. First, I get to smash 'em with a giant tractor type of deal with forks on it, then I put 'em in the crusher.
