Can confirm on the new language stuff - it also has a great advantage that you can get perspectives on shit that isn't in your native tongue, or don't have to rely on shitty translations.
Though, in saying that - stay the fuck away from quite a few of the language learning communities online, unless you vet them thoroughly beforehand - a good amount of them have a lot of SJW trash and attention whores who think that knowing a bunch of pre-rehearsed quotes makes one fluent in a language, or they view said community as their personal soapbox. Otherwise, I would highly recommend learning a new language.

i've got enough russian to tell a shitty CSGO teammate his mother is a jewish whore, or to radio-call "2 in mid", etc (which is why i learned russian)

I can recognise words here and there with it, given that the language I'm learning is similar to that.
Also yeah, Russian is great though. My SO speaks it conversationally, purely by playing video games with Russian friends, too!
