Old News -- flaired.

Not to everybody. I have not seen it. You are negating the value of the inormation by doing that.

As I have repeatedly told changingperspectives, all he has to do to avoid a flair is acknowledge the original pub date in the headline. He chooses not to.

ChangingPerspectives ago

That's not the case. I am "choosing not to" it just seems I misunderstood in the past, I didn't know I had to put that in the title, I just thought you had to flair it, as a mod, if it was older news, but now I see what you're saying. I do see what ESOTERIC is saying though, that it may ward other off with that tag, but I also understand the job you do as a mod, so no worries. I will make sure and add the date in the post in the future.

Thanks. :-) If I realized you weren't clear on that, I would have explained further, LOL. We have the flair both for reader convenience and because we've have quite a few occasions when people posted old articles with misleading headlines to jerk readers around by getting their hopes up. Got a lot of those submissions in the first half of last year.

You can just put "ICYMI: " at the beginning.

ChangingPerspectives ago

Perfect that sounds good, thanks for the update. What does "ICYMI" mean by the way?

Vindicator ago

In case you missed it...

ChangingPerspectives ago

yeah I saw that, but I still don't know what "ICYMI" means, but I am happy to use it.

I = In C = Case Y = You M = Missed I = It

;-)

ChangingPerspectives ago

Got it, that makes sense. I'm an idiot, lol.

No, never mind - I also didn't know what the abbreviation meant at first. ;-)

Awesome, so now that we know, you can begin to put the date in the headline, spread important news, and there is no confusion.

Sweet.
