The Catholic Church in France approved the new version of the Lord's Prayer in March of this year and introduced the updated text on the First Sunday of Advent. Pope Francis praised the French bishops' change of the text on Dec. 6.
The change has also been debated by the Italian bishops' conference for many years and was approved the Italian bishops' conference in 2007, and the Italian Bishops' Conference Bible was changed to reflect the new translation, but the change has still not been introduced into the Italian version of the Missal.
The original Greek of the New Testament (1st and 2nd century): καὶ μὴ εἰσενέγκῃς ἡμᾶς εἰς πειρασμόν (and (you) lead us not into temptation).
The Latin Vulgate (4th century): et ne nos inducas in tentationem (lest you lead us into temptation)
The Pope is messing with the original texts of the Gospel, rewriting the words of Christ as they were handed down to us from the very beginning.
In 1881 liberal church men, Westcott and Hort, and the spiritualists in England saw in those manuscripts the same ecumenical spirit that Constantine liked sixteen hundred years earlier. Westcott and Hort modified the historical Greek New Testament text to match those manuscripts.
There's been some theological criticism of the Textus Receptus text of the Lords Prayer, IMO it's reasonable to think that it's a redaction.
