Apparently Podesta is confident that he is untouchable--he is getting very bold in his Tweets.

Podesta taunted Trump with this Tweet, comparing it to Nixon's Watergate scandal:

By comparing the firing of Comey with President Nixon's "Saturday Night Massacre", Podesta is alluding to how the Nixon administration was brought down during the Watergate scandal.

Nixon fired special prosecutor Archibald Cox and there were resignations to follow. Of course, the exaggerated term "Saturday Night Massacre" was an invention of political commentators.

Those of an age to recall Nixon and this "massacre" know that this was the final straw in bringing down the Nixon presidency, so Podesta's use of this comparison would indicate his hopes of the firing of Comey having the same effect on the Trump presidency.

That's melodramatic. People be like laughing at this comparison. Besides, Watergate was a coup, read Russ Baker's book. Nixon was scared to death that night, for his life.

That's LITERALLY what Nixon did too.

Facts aren't melodramatic.

And you should probably read Bakers book, the supposed "coup" attempt came AFTER Watergate broke.

The coup was probably in the works a while. A lot of things had gone down before the massacre, the country was reeling, it wasn't the same, it was a much darker time. This is the official MSM line you're espousing. Do you remember Watergate, the massacre, and the hearings?

The lead investigator of a nonsensical phony Russian spy story that even the dems have denounced. Until tonight. Not Watergate. Nixon had something to hide (though we don't know how much he knew), Trump has no Russian dirt on him. Not Watergate. That was a "constitutional crisis." as I said, if this reaches Watergate status I'll retract and apologize. But in a way let's hope it does.
