Hi, everyone. Thought I would share with you all exactly how to donate Bitcoin, or BTC, to Voat so we can keep fighting the Good Fight!
It's not a very complicated process, but all the new info can be a bit daunting so I'll make this as simple as I can :D
How to 'Hold' BTC
Before we acquire BTC we need to be able to 'hold' it. That is, to store the info about it on our computers. That is done with a small program called a wallet. For our purposes I will assume we're all using Electrum Wallet, a lightweight, simple wallet.
Electrum is free and open source, so no worries.
It is at this point I would warn against using 'Online Wallets' or 'Browser Wallets' like those found on exchanges as with those the money is never really under your control.
Once we have Electrum installed and updated(it should update automatically) we can 'Generate an Address'. This will allow us to receive BTC! Don't worry about the exact string of numbers and letters, just know this is like your BTC Routing Number :)
Get BTC
We're moving right along!
Now we should go to Craigslist or LocalBitcoins and either check for ads selling BTC or post one to buy. LocalBitcoins has a rating system so you can tell if the people you are dealing with are trust worthy, pretty handy!
The reason I take this route is because there is very little info being exchanged other than BTC so no doxxing. Also, your money is never in the hands of a third party.
Pick a person with a good rating that accepts cash and meet them in person, send a check, or bank transfer. I prefer meeting in person at a cafe with cash. This will allow you to bring your laptop and confirm the transaction before giving them any cash.
Before you make the transfer, it would be smart to check the current BTC price with something like Preev.com. This will let you both be sure you're getting your money's worth.
After about 10 minutes, you'll have a few 'confirmations' showing up on your receiving address. You now own BTC!
Send a Donation to Voat
Now that you have money in your Wallet you can send it freely and without restriction to anyone you want! No taxes, or oversight!
So go to 'Send' or 'Transfer' and input Voat's receiving address. This was posted by @PuttItOut, the site Admin so you know it's legit.
Here it is for simplicity. You can just copy and paste the address into the applicable field on Electrum.

When you send money, the network needs a little bit of extra data to process the transfer properly. This is known as the 'fee'. Your 'fee' is not being sent to any specific party, but is being sent to the BTC Network or 'Blockchain' in order for it to make all the computations correctly. Again, you can independently verify what I'm saying is correct :)
That's It!
Congratz, you've successfully given money to the freest forum on the internet. You truly are a patriot and are fighting the good fight!
Feel free to ask me any questions and upvoat for visibility.

Pro tip: If you are going to hold enough Bitcoin that you'd feel badly about loosing it, consider a hardware wallet like a trezor or ledger. Using a hardware wallet, your Bitcoin will not be accessible to the internet, or any machine except when you decide to make a purchase, or donation, or receive more bitcoin. This makes it much harder to steal or lose.

Add to that OpenDime. Can be thrown in a safe, verified, or traded over the sneakernet. In order to get at the funds you need to physically modify the board.

Always check the wallet address. Expect people to post their own BTC address in place of whom you are trying to support. Beware of those scams.

Yes, I wholeheartedly agree.
