It was suggested to me that I start this sub. I was reluctant for a couple reasons. I have a friend here who knows some of these stories was the largest. If Greg reads this he'll know my UID if he doesn't already. And other reasons. But anyway, I feel like telling a story right now.

So, I'm sitting there... A plastic cup filled w Ever clear and grape Kool aide. Yeah, terrible, it was in the house and I was 22 or so. So you drink wtf ever. It's near noon,maybe 2. Frank Zappa's Jazz From Hell is BLASTING out of a half stack. When suddenly there's a large BANG explosion from outside. And the power goes dead. Frank is suddenly silent.

And from outside we hear "Help, he's gonna fall" so Eric and I head outside.

From across the street there's this old dude standing in an alley waving us over. So we run over, and he's all "you've gotta help him, my back" and the whole time we still hear "help me". The old dude is pointing around the back of the place. So we run down the alley and around back of this house.

We find a fire escape like structure, but it's made of wood. A Staircase made of wood which reaches all the way to the top. So up we go. 3 stories and an attic, so by the time you're on the roof youre a good 50ft up.

And since I was sitting in my living room drinking shit drinks 30 seconds ago I'm barefoot.

Now 50ft up, barefoot, I start making my way across this roof. It's an OLD house. Meaning that the roof isn't one simple angle. I'm up and down and over and around and up... Across this multi gabled roof. Until we finally get to Help man.

And what we find is two guys. One alive. Both very close to the edge. "Help me he's gonna fall" the live man says. So we wade in in total ignorance. Live Man has one arm, Eric grabs the other and I grab both feet. And we drag Maybe Live Man back from the edge so he doesn't fall to his death.

While doing this I get a good look. The dudes chest skin is peeling, like you had a good sunburn. And then the finger. His finger was gone. Just gone. There was a bone sticking out of what looked like tar. Like he'd stuck his finger in tar and when he pulled it out all that was left was a bone.

We pulled him back from the edge, his brother the whole time " He's gonna be alright right?" And yeah what you say is Yeah Man, He'll Be Alright. While in your head is, That Dude Is Never Going To Be Alright. Not so live looking dude is drooling on his sunburned peeling chest.

About that time the FD arrives. They eventually make it up top. And promptly treat us like shit for trying to help. Yes Sir we know were in danger here. Should we have left him to fall off the roof? Dick.

So what had happened was two brothers reroofing a house. One grabbed hold of 20000 volts. Blew his finger off, peeled his chest skin like a sunburn and killed him dead as shit.

Yeah, we were in danger, 50ft up, a 20K live line Somewhere, I think Eric at least had shoes not that it would have helped him.

We went back and drank more grape Kool Aide Everclear and when there power came back on we switched out Jazz From Hell.
