That ad is an "art imitates life" type of thing. It's a fictional ad for a fictional video game. However, these types of ads did exist in the 50s, just not this specific Nico Time ad. The point would be a lot stronger if the Nico Time ad was replaced with a Camels ad from the 50s or other big cigerette brand
