I have a lot of issues with this. But here is the current religious composition of Congress.

Protestants outnumber Catholics almost 2-1.

The data I have seen on ethnoreligious affiliation and various fields, though some decades old, ranging from corporate CEOs to media, similarly showed Catholics pretty radically outnumbered. To describe the US as anything but WASP dominated before, say, JFK is pretty lacking. What has occurred is WASP decline but not WASP replacement. Or to draw an analogy - if the US were to cease being a superpower it is unlikely another state would replace it in that role.

Baptists are not Protestants. And in today's age, probably the only sect that could be considered Protestant is Adventism, and not mainline Adventism. There are zero protestants in Congress. The largest group is Catholic.

Sounds, shall we say, heterodox.

Protestant means to protest. Where are the so-called protestants protesting the Catholic church? They don't exist. They are fully in the arms of the ecumenical movement.
